This morning certainly was one of those mornings! Started off well… I enjoyed my morning walk along Dee Why beach, coffee stop, chat & a good laugh.

Due for tests this week I decided to drop into Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology at the Kingsway DY to make sure I had everything I needed.

After a decade in the Kingsway they had moved…. a very rough note was on the door advising ‘Moved Today…. 910 Pittwater Rd something about lights & medical centre!…

So….off I trotted….. To add to the confusion…..there is a Nuclear Medical Centre (also on Pittwater Rd) right across as you come out of the Kingsway & there is a set of lights to cross to it & then another set to cross over Pittwater Rd as well.  Which would you choose?

Across Pittwater Rd (6 lanes of traffic) I trotted (thankfully able bodied & able to cope with the distance!!)  Headed across & down the side to find a door with ‘Entrance on Pittwater Rd’.. hadn’t gone there first as an outside sign said ‘Pharmacy’….. (couldn’t find a street no)

The adventure continues….. Into the medical centre….. past the pharmacy to medical centre desk.  Would you believe….I’m in the wrong place.  Rather indignantly I’m told it’s up the road & there is a big sign…Ok…. but the sign at pathology said Medical Centre.  Thankyou….. Maybe I had too much fresh air and coffee for the brain to cope!

Finally arrived….& collected all I needed.   But so much for DHM moving today…it was in fact November…..nearly 5 months ago!!

I spoke to  a very nice woman about the confusion and heaven help anyone less able than myself, especially the elderly having to cover the distance or find it!  Her comment was that some almost do need resusitation when they finally arrive!  She said it.. not me…….

I suggested better directions were needed… she agreed & gave me a number to contact the office & commented that she hoped I would take the time to phone … which I did!

My Tip:  Always ring the phone no. to check the address because even the address was wrong on the back of the form for the pathology collection centres…So now you know…. Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology DY Moved!
