Are our pensioners the forgotten generation?  It would seem so from what the government has been doing…or more likely not doing…. for them.

For many of our elderly who have already lived through war and ’The Depression Years’…With rising rent and food costs many have been struggling and living well below the poverty line, with barely enough to last them till next pension day.  Many have felt alone and deserted.

But in true Aussie spirit Australians have banded together and taken up the cause to assist and come to the aid of our ageing pensioners. 

There has been overwhelming response to the ‘Adopt A Pensioner’ Scheme including support from shops and companies as seen on Today Tonight last night where you can read the full story.

A special website has been set up to connect pensioners with caring Australians who are ready to ‘adopt’ them and are changing lives…….Maybe you know someone living close by you can ‘adopt.’
