Nintendo Wii Revitalizes Hula Hoop Fad
Ah… The Hula Hoop….now that certainly brings back memories of my childhood yester year! Also helping is the new craze of Nintendo Wii Revitalizes Hula Hoop Fad. It certainly kept us kids occupied with many hours of entertainment.
Sometimes it’s the simplest toys that we find the most enjoyment from…and it wasn’t just Elvis Presley swinging his hips during this era.
A little touch of Trivia…
The Hula Hoop turned 50 on 19th June! (Thanks Trisha at Ideas For Women)
“It became a real piece of Americana” The Hula Hoop became so *ubiquitous that the
former Soviet Union banned the toy as a symbol of the “emptiness of American culture.”(*Being or seeming to be everywhere at the same time)
Apparently when the fad of hula hoops was wearing off to spark new interest they added a new twist and inserted ball bearings in the cylinder to make a “shoosh” sound….not sure that I remember that!
The Hula Hoop has certainly come a long way over the years. Now….You can spin a virtual form of the toy on a new Nintendo Wii video game promoting physical fitness or you can make your own Hula Hoop.
This story got me started on some research…..Who said the Hula Hoop had died…. I’ve just found a community with video Hula Hoop tutorials …. like ‘Lifts from the waist’ …..before long you’ll soon be holding your own hoopfest.
If you want to see what you can really do with a Hula Hoop you won’t believe your eyes….
Wow!… If that’s not quite your speed you can always start your physical fitness with Nintendo Wii Revitalizes Hula Hoop Fad video.
Talking about Nintendo Wii….
