John LeSieur originally created this for his grandson & wanted to share it for others to benefit.  He created ZAC the Free Web Browser For Autistic Children.

ZAC is the first web browser developed specifically for children with autism, and autism spectrum disorders such as Asperger syndrome, pervasive developmental disorders (PDD), and PDD-NOS.

The ZAC was made  for the enjoyment, enrichment, and freedom for the children creating important communication and educational opportunities.  Children touch it, use it, play it, interact with it, and experience independence.

The Zac Browser has an emphasis on educational games, music, videos, and visually entertaining images, such as a virtual aquarium and greatly simplifies the experience of using a computer and presents a hand-picked slate of choices from free, public web sites.

Children using the Zac Browser select activities by clicking on larger-than-normal icons, like a soccer ball for games and a stack of books for “stories.” The Zac Browser also configures the view so no advertisements or other flashing distractions appear.

ZAC Free Web Browser for Autistic Children site also has a forum for parents, caretakers and teachers to help share your experiences, tools and resources.
