Attention Art Lovers: What’s On In Sydney – Newport Northern Beaches NSW. Artist Simon Barlow is staging the Newport Recreation Centre’s first major art exhibition.
Simons exhibition will feature some water scenes, paintings of Pittwater and Australian native flora.
As usual… the attendance on opening night for Simons Art Exhibition was a huge success and my first glimpse of the new Newport Recreation Centre. Also an opportunity for us to catch up with old friends who attend each of Simons exhibitions to view his latest masterpeices.
His new exhibition has had overwhelming response…..and even more exciting is when the red dots appear next to the paintings…and as the Auctioneer would say ….Sold!
Amongst the magnificant display of paintings my favourites were the magnolias, lillies and landscapes of Saltpan Bay and Careel Bay…. and the shell collection…You can choose your favourites when you visit Simons exhibition.

Looking for the best spots to see Fireworks New Years Evein Sydney? Sydney families will be enjoying the early family fireworks at 9pm and others will see in the New Year with the fantastic display of fireworks at midnight to herald in the New Year for 2010.
If you haven’t made it to the foreshores of Sydney Harbour early I’m sure you can forget even squeezing in anywhere to catch a glimpse of what is expected to be a spectacular fireworks event.
Manly Residents & families can enjoy the popular community fireworks at 9pm. Best spots to enjoy the spectacle from East and West Esplanade Reserves, adjacent to Manly Wharf.
Manly Wharf Hotel is one of the best places to see the local fireworks with a birds eye view of the harbour.
Manly entertainment includes Roving performers, jumping castles, and percussion performance by Drum Beats will keep you all entertained until the fireworks display.
Newport Arms Hotel hosts its own fireworks extravaganza over Pittwater. Over 18s can enjoy free entry to the beergarden party.
Boat Owners who have braved the harbour will certainly have a spectacular view. Many will venture out early in the afternoon to make sure they have the ideal water vantage view.
Mrs Macquarie Point, East Circular Quay, Peacock Point Balmain & Sydney Opera House are always favourite spots to view the fireworks.
